Sophia Lillis' character in OD - KNOCK looks on in fear, as she hears footsteps from behind her. The knocking has stopped, but the evil is now inside.

Back in 2023, Hideo Kojima and Jordan Peele both took to The Game Awards stage to unveil OD, a new psychological horror title being made by Kojima Productions. Now, a couple of years later, we're getting our first in-engine look at OD - KNOCK, Kojima's personal part of the project. Deep-rooted fears explored with hyper-realistic visuals, OD expects to take the horror genre to the next level.

Kojima's Goals With OD

By the looks of things, OD will be an anthology series. Instead of focusing on one particular story or theme, OD will be exploring different fears. Kojima made it quite clear that OD - KNOCK is just one part of a greater whole. Jordan Peele is working on a completely distinct experience, with a totally different kind of fear in mind.

Kojima's inspiration for KNOCK comes from his own fears of loud knocking. Introspection has been key in the making of this upcoming game. The unnerving tension that comes from hearing noises out of sight — that will be an integral part of the full experience. OD hopes to dive deep into what makes certain fears so frightening.

Sophia Lillis' character in OD - KNOCK slowly attempts to light all the candles as she hears knocking from the door behind, getting louder and louder.

While the gameplay loop of OD isn't quite clear, there's definitely more to it than just lighting candles. With big names like Sophia Lillis, Udo Kier, and Hunter Schafer working on the project, it's safe to assume that OD will go beyond the mundane. Don't expect a simple walking simulator. Expect an immersive commentary on some of our deepest fears.
