The Lego Group has been aggressive in its pursuit for new collaborations. And on Tuesday, the company announced its biggest collaboration yet, confirming a multi-year partnership with The Pokémon Company. This partnership has long been due, as LEGO and Pokémon represent two of the biggest brands in the world. Fans will have to wait a little while, though, as these new LEGO Pokémon sets officially launch in 2026.
When LEGO announces new collaborations, there tends to be a lack of quality details. The reveal trailers are cool and all, but anyone could surmise that Pikachu is going to end up in the first LEGO Pokémon set. That being said, the LEGO website gives an ever so slight amount of insight on their plans for this collab.
LEGO will be "calling all Pokémon Trainers to get ready to build and catch some of their favorite Pokémon." That innocent company statement tells us two things: Poké Balls and various Pokémon will likely be included in each set. That's nothing incredibly shocking, but it's good to know.
In terms of pricing, these upcoming LEGO Pokémon sets probably won't cost you $299.99 USD. At least, not all of them...Pokémon is just too popular to completely gatekeep with absurd costs. We'll have to wait and see on that, though.
Over the last few years, Nintendo has been keen on expanding its brands through various different mediums. Pokémon is no stranger to toys, but working with LEGO is a significant step-up from its previous partnerships. LEGO Pokémon wasn't ever an inevitability, but its immediate success will have everyone wondering why this collaboration didn't happen sooner.
