The Duskbloods, FromSoftware's Next Vampire Multiplayer Action Game, Is A Switch 2 Exclusive

The Duskbloods is FromSoftware's latest action game, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.

There were a lot of expectations for Nintendo's first Nintendo Switch 2-focused Direct. An Elden Ring port was actually one of them. A game that successful just makes sense to bring to the Switch 2's more modern hardware. What no one expected to see, however, was the reveal of a new FromSoftware game. Let alone a Nintendo-exclusive one. The Duskbloods is FromSoftware's next multiplayer action title, and it will be coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

The Duskbloods Is A PvPvE Multiplayer Action Game

Plenty of FromSoftware's Souls games have some amount of PvP present in them — mostly through invaders — but those games don't exactly lean hard into that. The Duskbloods, on the other hand, looks set to focus more heavily on the inclusion of multiplayer gameplay. This new game will support up to 8 players at a time. Players can fight among themselves, or they can focus on the enemies present in the world.

The Duskbloods' combat will be plenty familiar to many, using FromSoftware's tried-and-true formula. The action is ever so slightly more modernized this time around, with more contemporary guns available. Considering that there are trains around in this world, the aesthetic is pretty open to that kind of weaponry. Other bladed weapons and magic are still available, though, and vampire-esque powers likely fit in somewhere.

Magicpunk? Post-Industrial Revolution? A Whole New Setting

The Duskbloods will be focusing on a more modern society than what we're used to out of FromSoftware games. The exact type of aesthetic that FromSoft is going for here isn't exactly clear, but it can be best described as a mix of gothic fantasy and a post-industrial setting. It all works very well. If you're curious about the concepts behind The Duskbloods, the developers will be releasing an interview in the coming days. We'll cover that information here, as well.
